Michel Square in Paris to protest the French government's decision to prevent Syrians living in France from exercising their right to vote in the upcoming presidential elections. The community members carried Syrian flags, pictures of President al-Assad, and placards rejecting terrorism and supporting President al-Assad. Members of Arab communities and French citizens participated in the gathering as well. Secretary General of the Syrian Nationalists Union in France, Mustafa Muwaffaq, said that the French government's decision is a French official site concern, and that the Syrian community will find other ways to vote via Syrian political establishments. Mahmoud al-Sheikh Taha, an expatriated artist and longtime resident in France, said that liberty and democracy are mere illusions in France where there are no human rights, which is something Syrian expatriates have known for a long time.
